A DCSS Chapter

A student-run CS club at your school, backed by the full DCSS network. Weekly sessions, hackathons, projects, and a direct line to a growing global community of builders.

Weekly Sessions

Run engaging workshops using the DCSS Knowledge Library — covering data structures, algorithms, machine learning, networks, and more. All materials provided.

Hackathons

Host 2-3 HackerRank hackathons per year, open to all students. DCSS provides templates, problem sets, and support to make each event a success.

Real Projects

Give members the chance to work on real software — from web apps to sustainability tools. Connect with DCSS initiatives like DC CarShare and SpeakUp.

Cross-School Network

Join inter-school hackathons, share resources, and collaborate with student leaders from other campuses. Your chapter is part of something bigger.

What we ask

01

Weekly Sessions

Hold at least one session per week during term time. Use the Knowledge Library or create your own content — just keep it consistent.

02

2-3 Hackathons Per Year

Run HackerRank hackathons open to all students at your school. We provide the infrastructure; you bring the community.

03

Quarterly Reports

Submit a brief report each quarter covering attendance, session topics, and event outcomes. Keeps us aligned and your chapter accountable.

04

Use Official Branding

All public communications use DCSS branding and follow the naming format: DCSS — [School Name].
