Overview
DC CarShare is a carpooling platform developed in partnership with the Sustainability Club to reduce the environmental impact of school commutes. The initiative brings together students from across year groups to build a functional app that connects families for shared journeys to and from Dubai College.
The platform tackles a real problem - with hundreds of families making individual trips to and from school each day, DC CarShare offers a practical, student-built solution that reduces carbon emissions while building community.
Cross-Club Collaboration

Presented to the Senior Leadership Team to discuss viability and integration within the school.

Comprehensive privacy policy refined in collaboration with school leadership to protect student data.
Progress
Students have been involved with hands-on programming, brainstorming ideas, and turning the app vision into reality. This culminated in a presentation to members of the Senior Leadership Team to discuss the viability and next steps for integration of the app within the school.
By the end of Term 2, the project had been finalised - with members debugging the platform, refining and strengthening the privacy policy, and working closely with the SLT. The project is now prepared for launch in Term 3.
